Your First Week With CPAP

A practical guide to mask fit, humidity, ramp settings, and routine-building during early CPAP use.

Practice before bedtime

Try the mask while sitting quietly or lying down before you are exhausted. A few calm practice minutes can make the first night feel less sudden.

Track problems by type

Separate leaks, pressure discomfort, dryness, skin marks, and anxiety. Each problem has different fixes, and a clear note helps your provider or supplier guide you.

Do not suffer silently

Early CPAP problems are common. Call your care team if the mask feels impossible, pressure feels wrong, or symptoms make therapy hard to continue.
